Alot has happened with our family since Mike came off the road and I last posted.

I really don’t want to go into all of it. Many challenges and hard times, but we are back on a positive road.

I am gradually getting back to working on my internet businesses and most importantly our family blog. I will be doing a wonderful re-vamping/redesign on the entire blog after the first of the year and I’m looking forward to it.

Gregory is doing WONDERFULLY in school. He’s saying words, feeding himself and drinking from a cup sometimes now!!! WOOT!!! Potty training is going exceptionally well, too!

Felicity is making straight A’s in school. She’s reading 2 levels ahead of herself and we are thrilled!

Mike is now working where Gregory goes to therapy/learning lab(aka school) and is very happy. He is a Therapy Tech, helping with the kids day in and day out and the kiddos there just love “Mr Mike”.

I’m still at JoAnns part time and love it. I get out of the house around other adults and am thrilled to be working in my “realm”.

I will post more here and there between now and the New Year, just not sure how much, though.

Have a great day!

Mike will be home this afternoon. FOR GOOD.

Trucking just didn’t work well for our family at all. Gregory won’t eat for anyone and has only had food a handful of times since Mike left. He has gone back to wanting to live on Pediasure.

Mike will be home this afternoon and quite possibly already has a new job. I will post more about that when we know something for sure.

We put an offer in on a new place in the country. 3.10 fenced acres. Nice manufactured home, which eventually we will replace with a brick home. There is a barn and coral. Land is comepletely “clean” with wonderful prairie grasses and ready for horses, a cow and goats! Not to mention, there’s a garden spot already for us to till and plant next spring. We are anxiously awaiting word on the offer.

Everyone keep their fingers crossed and if you are the praying type, please send up a prayer for us on the new farm.

I’ve also considered using a wood burning stove on which to cook, but just don’t think I could manage that. So, I’ll continue with a modern day range, just careful to conserve as much gas/electricity as I can doing so.

Here’s a beauty I’d love to own.

Mike is in Virginia picking up a load. I talked with him last night. He said he has now driving that big ol’ truck on nearly every terrain imaginable. Mountains, prairie, in rain. Everything but snow. He says there is so much to learn and he is still learning everyday.

On the down side, Gregory has stopped eating almost completely since Mike left. That’s not a good thing at all. Our new Nanny and I are working with Gregory daily to get him eating again, but it’s not making any progress. His diet is comprised of Pedisure and a yogurt or applesauce here and there. This is so disappointing, since he had begun even feeding himself before Mike left. If things don’t improve, we may have to re-think Mike’s trucking job. He may have to look for something using his CDL locally. We’ll just have to see.

Felicity is doing well. She’s loving our new Nanny. They go to the library nearly daily, take walks, go to the park. She’s awesome with the kids and they love her.

I am loving my new part-time job at JoAnns! I have met so many interesting people and I love helping people with their projects, etc. It is going to work out so well once the kids are in school. I am also currently working on my new product line. It has been in the works for a few months. I plan to do an official release in August/September. I’m really excited. I’ve felt that selling my previous product line was a big mistake. Live and learn. My new line has better features and designs, so maybe it’s all meant to be.

Have a great week everyone!

Mike is doing well. He was officially hired on July 8 by CR England. As I type this, he is in Minnesota headed to Indiana, then on to Colorado. He texted me a bit earlier, saying today was a bad day and he’d talk to me later. Yuck. Until then, he has sounded so good every time I talk to him. Better than he’s sounded in a very, very long time. But, gotta have a bad day sometime, huh?

Summer is passing quickly! I took a part time job at our JoAnn’s store so I can get out of the house some and meet people my own age with similar interests. That was one of the “deals” with Mike going on the road. He said I HAD to get out of the house some. Well, I love my job and am having so much fun!

We have a new care provider (aka “Nanny”) for Gregory, that also watches Felicity for me. She’s wonderful and has experience working with Autistic children. The kids both love her and it’s wonderful to come home from work to a peaceful house and not one of utter chaos. She will be teaching both of the kids and I how to play piano and guitar. We are so excited! She, Felicity and I will be doing some sewing, quilting and crocheting, as well. Gregory is showing interest in crochet, so maybe we can even teach him.

The kids and I are hoping to make a trip to Albuquerque, NM sometime in August and then to Ozfest in Liberal, KS in October. Liberal, KS is the *official* home of Dorothy and “The Wizard of Oz”.

We are down to one chicken. Nonnie, our Serama pullet. She has become mostly a house chicken. She goes in and out with the dogs. We hold her alot and let her run free in the house supervised. Otherwise, she has a very large cage she calls home in the family room. She even layed her first egg yesterday! I have more Serama eggs on the way so Nonnie can have a couple of *girl* BFF to hang out with, besides us humans. Of course, she doesn’t seem to mind hanging out with us one bit.

To my dear sweet hubby, Mike.

Today is the first day of a new life for us, we hope. He left on a bus to Dallas at 5am this morning to attend school for CR England. He said the bus ride wasn’t great, could have been worse, but 8 hours on a bus kind of stinks. Then the hotel they stay in is terrible, he says. They have to turn off every light and the A/C when they leave each day or the hotel fines each of the students in the room $10 a day for extra electricity. Can you believe that? Gotta love those small hotel owners….especially in 100* plus heat in the DFW area in the summer.

So, to my dear husband and wonderful father to my children, Happy Fathers’ Day! This also goes out to all the brothers, sons, fathers, grandfathers, uncles….of everyone!

This picture is of Mike, Felicity and Gregory in July 2004. Felicity was 3 years old and Gregory was 3 months old.
